Thermal Roller Blinds for Winter

Thermal Roller Blinds for Winter

As we start heading into our cooler months, we receive many enquiries asking whether our roller blinds have thermal qualities. Our thermal collection of roller blinds allows you to save money in style with a range of elegant designs that work hard to keep your home warm and significantly reduce your energy bills. Our thermal roller blind collections have been carefully selected to offer a wide choice including textured and plain designs.

Here at Rods and Blinds we are pleased to say that nearly all our ranges have a thermal backing that gives added insulation to your home and are ideal for living areas, bedrooms and most areas of your home. Generally, thermal backed blinds have a softer look and feel than ordinary roller blinds, and there are some superb tactile finishes available. Thermal roller blind fabric does not have a separate thermal lining like curtains - the thermal lining is directly fused to the fabric.

How can you compare the thermal qualities of roller blind fabrics?

There is no agency or company that independently rates our fabrics, however there is an option that may help you with your selection.
Select the virtual swatch that you like and go to the bottom of the page and click on the specification tab. Look for the "Weight" heading. This tells you the weight of the fabric per square metre. The higher the number, the better the insulation to keep your home warm in Winter and cooler in Summer.

A selection of our thermal roller blind ranges
One of our favourite ranges is the Resene Range which is easy to match colours if you use Resene paints in your home.
Our Linesque and Chatsworth Ranges are manufactured in Europe and have class leading design weaves and state of the art thermal backings.
Our new Nevada Palmbeach and Castille Ranges are some of our heaviest fabrics and Mantra and Le Reve Ranges and Skye offer a surpurb textured look with a heavy weight thermal backing.
Modern Classics , our Designer Gallery and Tasman Ranges all offer excellent thermal insulation as well as up to the minute styling.
Urbanshade is a particular favorite of mine as it is designed and manufactured right here in New Zealand and exported all over the world. It has a soft, luxurious feel to it and offers very good insulation.
When making your selection, we recommend using our FREE sample service - which will ensure that you get the perfect shade and texture to match your home and if you have any queries, please don't hesitate to contact us.
